The Belta Masters 2009
"QUACK QUACK QUACK"
The 5th Belta Masters saw the return of Mr Julian Christopher and Neil Roberts following their pregnancy enforced one year leave of absence.
29 golfers all told, did battle through 3 lovely days and one very very wet day, that saw me personally lose the will to live...
Rookies this year were Mark Keegan, Mr Ben Turnbull and
Campbellino ("I think I've got a little bit of duck in me...I really don't mind the wet... QUACK QUACK QUACK QUACK...")
Lee Wenzel (last years Duffers Cup Winner) continued his rise through the Hall of Fame and ran off with the win, even after cutting himself by 6 shots to 22 from 2008. 18 next year methinks. He played superbly in the wet Saturday and I will never forget 50% Driver into a 170yd par three that got to about 8 foot...worthy winner.
Other noteable performances were a 35 pointer from Ben T, a good solid 3rd place for Toby Nicholson, the ever improving Nishter with a couple of better scores.
The Paula Radcliffe award went to Mr Bob Sewell for "incredible golfing improvement.
